Responsibilities- Collaborate with engineering teams to overcome search challenges.
- Develop and communicate a comprehensive search technology strategy, guiding technical leads in building robust search systems that serve our vision.
- Identify and solve systemic technical challenges by proactively raising issues and working closely with product leadership to explore solutions.
- Design and implement advanced search systems that enable effortless insight extraction from customer data.
- Maintain high engineering quality standards within the team.
- Extensive experience building search systems using technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, or vector databases.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex search architectures to stakeholders and articulate query performance vs. relevance tradeoffs.
- Experience managing complex search infrastructure, designing and delivering features, and providing reasonable performance estimates.
- Ability to teach others, mentoring junior team members in search best practices and information retrieval concepts.
- Pragmatism and flexibility to adjust to shifting customer search needs and solve retrieval problems effectively.
