Job Title: Risk and Insurance Branch Opportunities

About the Role:

The Risk and Insurance Branch is responsible for managing Comcover, the Australian Government's self-managed insurance fund. We promote best practice risk management across the Australian Public Service (APS) through policies, guidance, education, and training.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing high-quality analysis and advice on complex issues
  • Conducting research to inform sensitive legal, political, or policy matters
  • Delivering results through stakeholder engagement and collaboration
  • Managing complex cases

Team Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing claims under the Comcover Statement of Cover
  • Directly managing large, complex, and high-risk liability, property, and other claims
  • Analyzing claims data to identify trends and emerging risks

Fund Member Services Team:

  • Developing and delivering communications to Fund Members
  • Implementing Comcover's education program
  • Maintaining Comcover's awards and recognition program
