Job Opportunity

Casual nursing professionals are sought to provide exceptional support and leadership in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Supervise safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards
  • Support and liaise with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) of wards and departments
  • Ensure all areas are staffed appropriately and cost efficient
  • Coordinate patient admissions
  • Oversee the safety of all patients and hospital staff

Essential Requirements :

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration
  • Recent management experience at ANUM level or higher
  • Tertiary Qualification in a health-related discipline or management (desired)
  • Knowledge of relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements (desired)
  • Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • People leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of team members
  • Ability to manage special projects and selected portfolios

About the Role

The Hospital Coordinator is a vital member of our healthcare team providing leadership and management of the nursing team and hospital after hours.

Our facility averages 760 admissions per month, with specialties including orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and internal medicine, along with leading rehabilitation services and programs.

Applicants will be required to provide a current National Police check, WWCC (where applicable), and evidence of right to work in Australia prior to appointment. Staff in patient contact roles will need to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the nursing team in providing high-quality patient care
  2. Collaborate with the nurse unit managers to ensure smooth operations
  3. Develop and implement strategies to improve patient flow and reduce waiting times
  4. Manage patient admissions and coordinate discharge planning
  5. Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment
