We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Specialist to join our Credit Risk team at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability of the Australian financial system.
Key Responsibilities- Lead credit reviews and coordinate review teams to deliver in-depth analysis, risk assessment, and problem-solving.
- Develop and implement projects and initiatives that leverage analytical thinking and innovation.
- Review documents and reports related to credit risk and derive meaningful insights to support APRA's ongoing supervision.
- Present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain effective working relationships and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Stay up-to-date with the applicable prudential framework and specific credit standards and guidance.
- Identify emerging risks and prioritize existing risks to ensure adequate coverage and provide sound assurance on the resilience of the financial system.
To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant background in credit decisioning, credit analysis, credit assurance, or credit portfolio management. You will possess good knowledge of financial products, strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills, and the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of business.
You will have well-developed written and verbal communication skills for advising internal stakeholders, explaining procedures, determining requirements, and translating technical concepts for a broad audience. Your business writing should be sharp and succinct, evidencing your ability to assess a wide variety of information sources to distill key issues.
You will also possess a keen eye for detail, priority management skills, and a positive mindset with an energetic approach to problem-solving and a willingness to offer new ideas and a fresh perspective. Qualifications in a finance-related discipline are desirable.
