Job Description:

The Wildlife Rehabilitator is responsible for the daily operation of a wildlife rehabilitation centre. This role involves rescue, rehabilitation, facility maintenance and cleaning to promote animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in daily animal care activities including admission, rescue, triage, examination, treatment, diet planning, feeding, and release.
  • Respond to phone calls and interact with the public, veterinarians, and government agencies to ensure smooth centre operations.
  • Maintain hygiene standards and adhere to health and safety protocols.
  • Assist in training and managing volunteers.
  • Keep detailed records, including patient files and care instructions; perform data entry and record analysis.
  • Rescue and transport wildlife as needed.
  • Assist in designing, constructing, and maintaining enclosures.
  • Collect supplies and donations as required.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, workshops, and projects.
  • Collaborate with other rehabilitation organizations to stay updated on current practices.
