Geochemist Role

Contribute to a dynamic team that delivers high-quality environmental and mine waste-related projects.

The Environmental Geochemist will play a key role in supporting projects through all phases of development, from early-stage assessments through to closure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, and interpret geochemical investigations and studies, including characterisation of mine waste, water quality assessments, and predictive modelling of environmental impacts.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver project outcomes.

Collaboration is essential for success in this role. You will have the opportunity to build on an existing project workload and contribute to the growth of the geochemistry team in the medium to long-term.

This is an exciting opportunity for a degree-qualified Environmental Scientist, Geochemist, Geologist, or related field professional with a solid understanding of geochemical processes and their relevance to mining and environmental projects.

To be successful, you will need:

  • A minimum of 10 to 15+ years' experience in environmental geochemistry, preferably within the mining or consulting sectors;
  • Experience in the design, execution, and interpretation of geochemical characterisation programs (e.g. static and kinetic testing);
  • Technical expertise in Acid Rock Drainage and related fields.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills;
  • A sound understanding of environmental legislation and permitting frameworks;
  • Excellent technical writing and reporting skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines;
  • The ability to work independently, and as part of a larger project team;
  • A willingness to travel for fieldwork and project support within Australia and internationally;
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Geochemistry, Geology, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded;
  • A home base in Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne is preferred, but not essential.
