Developing and growing sustainable businesses is crucial for long-term financial resilience. This strategic position focuses on driving business development and scaling social enterprises.

Key Responsibilities
  • We are looking for a skilled executive-level professional to develop revenue diversification strategies through philanthropy, grants, impact investment, and corporate partnerships.
  • The successful candidate will establish and scale social enterprises and income-generating businesses that create economic opportunities and revenue diversification.
  • This role requires embedding cultural governance, Indigenous Data Sovereignty, and community accountability into business strategy and operations.
  • Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and investment planning skills are essential to align with cultural and community priorities.
Selection CriteriaEssential
  • Proven experience in business development, financial strategy, or enterprise leadership within Indigenous, not-for-profit, or social impact sectors is necessary.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and scaling social enterprises or commercial ventures that deliver both financial and social outcomes.
  • A strong track record in securing diversified revenue streams, including philanthropy, grants, impact investment, and corporate partnerships.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and strengthen operational systems (finance, HR, IT, procurement) to support organisational growth.
Desirable
  • Experience working in or with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs).
  • Knowledge of cooperative, community-owned, or joint venture business models.

As a strategic thinker, the ideal candidate will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills and be able to build trust-based relationships with Aboriginal communities, investors, government, and corporate partners.
