Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Rigger to join our team at DNEG. As a Rigger, you will be responsible for producing high-quality animation rigs for digital doubles, creatures, props, and vehicles. You will work closely with our Creature Supervisors and Animation Leads/Supervisors to develop creative and technical solutions that meet the needs of our productions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in VFX feature films/feature animation
  • Deep knowledge and experience in Maya
  • Comfortable with technical aspects of character/creature work
  • Programming or scripting skills, preferably in Python
  • Strong visual and artistic skills
  • Excellent understanding of anatomy

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with pipeline issues and typical creature-heavy post-production environments
  • Strong facial rigging experience
  • Software development experience in C++, PyQt, and Python
  • Knowledge of areas in CFX including cloth, hair, and muscle/skin
  • Good general TD background
  • Understanding of Linux/Unix-based operating systems

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills, who is proactive, organized, and adaptable. You should be able to work well under pressure and meet production deadlines. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills and techniques are essential.
