Exercise Physiologist Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Exercise Physiologist to join our team in Longreach. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact in rural health while enjoying a rewarding career and lifestyle.

This role involves assessing, planning, and implementing exercise programs for preventing and managing chronic diseases and injuries. You will work with clients to restore optimal physical function, health, and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Screening and risk stratifying to ensure the safety and appropriateness of exercise and physical activity interventions
  • Assessing a person's 'movement' capacity in people of all ages and levels of health, wellbeing or fitness
  • Running already developed group classes in relation to falls prevention and cardiac and pulmonary health
  • Developing safe, effective individualised exercise interventions
  • Providing health education, advice, and support to enhance health and wellbeing
  • Providing exercise intervention and advice for those at risk of developing a chronic condition or injury
  • Managing communication with internal and external stakeholders

There will be some travel with overnight stays required to provide outreach services to communities distant to Longreach. A vehicle, meals, and accommodation whilst away will be subsidised by us.

You will have the opportunity to gain varied caseload experience, mentorship, and the chance to shape healthier communities. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in rural healthcare.

Requirements:
  • ESSA registration (or eligibility)
  • Relevant Exercise Physiologist qualification
  • Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence QLD
  • QLD Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or eligibility)
