We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Assistant to join our team at Slater and Gordon in Canberra. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support to our busy team, with ongoing training and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Support: Provide exceptional care and support to our clients in a professional manner, building strong relationships with them and ensuring their needs are met.
  • File Management: Assist the team with general file management and administration, ensuring all documents and records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Coordination: Coordinate appointments for our lawyers, medico-legal appointments for our clients, conferences, and mediations, ensuring seamless communication and organization.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, insurers, and other professionals both in writing and verbally, preparing legal correspondence and compiling court documents.
  • Preparation: Prepare matters for conferences and hearings, ensuring all necessary documents and information are available.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in legal support or business administration, with a passion for social justice and generating positive outcomes for clients.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication and customer service skills, excellent written and drafting skills, and the ability to recognize the importance of attention to detail and time management.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Availability: Available to work 38 hours per week, between the hours of 8:30am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
