Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Partner, Employee Relations Specialist to join our team at Central Desert Regional Council. As a key member of our People and Culture team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Regional Manager in delivering employee relations and industrial relations functions and advice across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert industrial relations advice, training, and support to management and employees in the interpretation and application of workplace laws, Awards, Council's Enterprise Agreement, and related industrial instruments.
  • Investigate and report on employee relations issues, including internal employee grievances and external complaints, in collaboration with the Regional Manager, People and Culture.
  • Offer guidance and support to line managers in complex performance management-related issues, conflict resolution, disciplinary matters, and mediation processes.
  • Analyze and develop initiatives to drive organizational culture and behaviors, reducing employee grievances and complaints.
  • Review and develop employee-related policies and procedures, coaching managers on their implementation.
  • Coach and mentor the team to translate People and Culture theory into practice.
  • Influence and coach line managers through strong relationships to understand their people management responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and service plan delivery.
  • Influence the development and promotion of an effective and proactive health, safety, and wellbeing culture and approach.
