Job Description">

Abel Ecology is seeking an ecologist to lead ecological assessments and management for various development projects. The successful applicant will join a team of dedicated professionals with diverse skills and expertise.

The role requires expertise in flora surveys, vegetation mapping, biodiversity monitoring, habitat monitoring, threatened species monitoring, management plans, and impact assessments.

The candidate will work on large infrastructure projects and smaller projects across various sectors including residential, energy, local government, state government, and water.

">Required Skills and Qualifications">
  • ">
  • A recognized tertiary qualification (bachelor's degree or higher) in Botany/Ecology.">
  • High level plant identification skills.">
  • At least 2 years relevant industry experience in a consulting role.">
  • Ability to use GIS to collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate ecological data.">
  • Capacity to work independently on ecological tasks and activities in remote locations.">
  • Experience in planning and implementing ecological fieldwork for general and targeted surveys.">
  • Strong understanding of NSW and Australian legislation related to environmental and ecological reporting.">
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision with defined areas of responsibility.">
  • Literacy, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.">
  • Proficiency with MS Office and GIS software.">
  • Full driver's licence.">
  • Willingness to become a full member of the Ecological Consultants Association of NSW Inc.">
