Financial Operations Officer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a FinOps / Accounts Payable professional with 3 - 5 years experience to join the finance team on an initial 12 month contract in their Sydney head office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cash Management: Perform daily cash reporting and cash management to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Bank Statement Management: Download and code daily bank statements to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Vendor Communication: Advise vendors of payments to ensure smooth financial transactions.
  • Payment Management: Manage payments of cheques and international TTs to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare legal and professional fee schedules, as well as prepare and pay eft runs and one-off efts.
  • Audit and Compliance: Prepare audit confirmations and manage foreign currency reporting to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Asset Management: Update the Fixed Asset register and manage filing of invoices to maintain accurate financial records.
  • General Ledger Management: Enter payments into the General Ledger and reconcile the bank accounts to ensure accurate financial information.
  • Expense Reimbursement: Review expense reimbursement claims by receipt and associated fx conversion calculations to ensure accurate financial information.
  • Petty Cash Management: Perform petty cash reconciliations to ensure accurate financial information.
Requirements:
  • 3 - 5 years experience in a similar Accounts Payable / FinOps role in Financial Services
  • Degree in Accounting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • International Payments experience
  • Well-developed verbal & written communication skills, the ability to speak up & engage with multiple stakeholders both internally & externally
  • Process improvement mindset - looking to automate / simplify / re-engineer processes
  • Applicants must have full working rights in Australia & fluent English skills
