Job Title: Casual Perioperative Services Nurse

The Central Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a skilled and experienced perioperative services nurse to join their team. As a casual perioperative services nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct comprehensive nursing care and services to patients undergoing surgical and diagnostic operative procedures in the Operating Theatres, Recovery, Anaesthetic areas, Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) and Holding Bay at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

You will assess individual patient needs, plan, implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options. You will also provide health education, counselling and rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual patients or groups. You will consolidate your knowledge and skills through continuous professional development and experience and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is a 311 bed acute care teaching hospital that provides inpatient, outpatient, emergency and mental health services to a population of over 250,000 people living primarily in Adelaide's western suburbs. To be successful in this role, you will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You will have demonstrated competence in nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, and possess effective communication skills including problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
