About the Job

We are seeking an experienced professional to contribute to delivering on our purpose, vision, and strategic priorities to maintain the integrity of the financial system and protect consumers from harm.

  • Sydney or Melbourne

The team is responsible for taking enforcement action on matters that impact market integrity, including continuous disclosure, insider trading, market manipulation, licensing obligations, and misconduct by retail OTC issuers.

The Role

As a senior investigator, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support and conduct investigations and associated litigation leading to enforcement outcomes.

  • Project manage and contribute to the investigation of suspected misconduct in areas that we regulate.
  • Conduct investigative tasks including the analysis of large electronic data sets using specific software, drafting/serving compulsory notices, collecting and reviewing documents.
  • Interview and obtain information from a range of witnesses.
  • Assist with commencing and conducting civil litigation in the Federal Court.
  • Compile briefs of evidence for external parties and assist them to prepare for and conduct criminal prosecutions.
  • Compile administrative briefs to our delegates.
About You

We are looking for someone with relevant tertiary qualifications, strong investigative and analytical skills, experience planning and managing complex investigations and projects through to conclusion.

  • Skills in analysing and interrogating large complex data and evidence, and drive to understand the issues and take appropriate action.
  • Experience effectively presenting complex information to different target audiences through strong business writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders and professional networks.
  • Demonstrated capacity to use a variety of digital applications for investigative, research, and data collation purposes.
