Hedge Accounting Specialist

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled hedge accounting specialist to join our team. As a thought leader in the industry, we provide consultation on hedge accounting strategies to clients at all levels of accounting and finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on hedging strategies and manage client portfolios
  • Analyze effectiveness tests, draft hedge designation memos, and create inputs for future journal entries
  • Develop a deep understanding of hedge accounting and underlying economics through daily interaction with traders

Impact and Opportunities:

You will work closely with treasurers, CFOs, controllers, audit partners, and standard setters. This role offers significant opportunities for growth and development, including the chance to conduct research, discuss complex topics with key personnel, and add value to clients' needs.

Contributors to Your Success:

  • Chartered accountant qualification
  • 0-3 years post-qualified experience in financial reporting, auditing, or technical accounting advisory
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 9
  • Brief understanding of derivative financial instruments and enthusiasm to learn more
  • Experience in treasury or accounting systems and strong Excel skills
  • Analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
