Fabrication Operations Director

About the Role
">- As a seasoned fabrication professional, we're seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to drive operational excellence and lead a dynamic fabrication team in a well-established workshop. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fabrication and plant management, with a proven track record of leading and managing teams across multiple shifts.
Key Responsibilities
">- The successful candidate will oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and quality delivery. This includes managing production schedules, resource allocation, and workflows to meet project deadlines and exceed client expectations.
- In addition, the Workshop Manager will be responsible for cost management, inventory, and budgets, ensuring efficient operations within set financial targets.
- A champion of safety, the Workshop Manager will ensure compliance with health and safety standards and promote a culture of safety throughout the workshop.
- Collaborating with senior management, the Workshop Manager will also contribute to key meetings to align workshop goals with broader business objectives.
- Ongoing equipment maintenance is crucial, and the Workshop Manager will coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Facilitating training and professional development for team members in partnership with HR will be essential to the success of this role.
Required Skills and Experience
">- We are looking for a solutions-focused individual with excellent leadership and organisational skills, who can interpret and apply technical specifications effectively.
- Competence with Microsoft Office, CAD, and other project management tools is essential, as is proficiency in cost management and budgetary control within a production setting.
- A strong focus on time management and decision-making skills under pressure is vital, as is the ability to navigate complex project challenges.
