About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Roofing Professional to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining slate and metal roofing systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Install slate and metal roofing systems, including shingles, tiles, and panels.
  • Measure and cut roofing materials to fit around vents, chimneys, and other structures.
  • Secure roofing materials with nails, screws, or adhesives.
  • Install roof ventilation systems and ensure proper water drainage.

Repair and Maintenance:

  • Inspect roofs to identify damage or the need for repair.
  • Replace damaged or worn-out roofing materials.
  • Perform regular maintenance to extend the life of the roof.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.

Customer Interaction:

  • Communicate with clients to explain roofing processes, timelines, and costs.
  • Address any questions or concerns clients may have.
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other team members to complete projects efficiently.
  • Assist and mentor less experienced roofers as needed.
  • Report progress and any issues to the Supervisor or Project Manager.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a slate and metal roofer.
  • Proficiency in using roofing tools and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of roofing techniques and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Certification in roofing or a related field.
  • Experience with other roofing materials and systems.
  • Basic carpentry skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift heavy materials and tools.
  • Comfortable working on roofs in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, climb, and bend for extended periods.
