We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Legal Advisor to join our team. As a key member of the ANZ Plus squad, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic legal advice and practical solutions to help us redefine banking for the future.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for addressing complex legal issues, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and providing general legal advice on day-to-day operations and matters.
Responsibilities- Provide proactive advice on regulatory compliance in the development of new services, products, and channels.
- Deliver expert legal guidance on operational matters and transactions.
- Evaluate and implement regulatory change, strategic change, and growth initiatives.
- Analyze and improve the efficiency of legal support delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the legal and regulatory landscape and its impact on their projects and initiatives.
- Possess a law degree and admission to practice in Victoria.
- More than 10 years post-qualification experience as a lawyer with strong technical legal expertise in banking, retail financial services law or consumer credit law with privacy law preferred.
- Demonstrate exceptional judgment in identifying and managing legal risk.
- Show a keen interest in and understanding of commercial customer experiences and legal considerations in digital financial services and lending.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, client focus, and ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships.
