Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Master Mechanic to join our team in maintaining our state-of-the-art underground fleet of equipment. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our equipment, which is critical to the success of our operations.

About the Role:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on heavy machinery and equipment, including but not limited to oil changes, filter replacements, and mechanical repairs;
  • Detect and diagnose complex mechanical problems using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques;
  • Collaborate with other technicians and tradespeople to complete projects and achieve maintenance objectives;
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including hours worked, materials used, and equipment serviced;
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in heavy equipment maintenance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or equivalent trade qualification;
  • Relevant trade certifications (e.g. Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology);
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with Sandvik, Normet, Volvo, and other heavy equipment manufacturers;
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
