Senior Design Drafter Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Drafter to join our team in Brisbane. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering structural design and drafting services that meet project requirements on time and within budget.

The successful applicant will have experience in oil & gas, especially those who have worked on both brownfield and greenfield projects. Mining experience may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver structural design and drafting services that meet Verbrec's, the client's and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Developing 2D and 3D structural models and layouts.
  • Perform design and drafting assignments that meet project requirements on time and within budget.
  • Check drawings and documents in accordance with Verbrec's checking procedures and participate in project reviews as required.
  • Provide technical support and assistance within the Design Team and liaise with engineering teams.
  • Communicate effectively with the discipline team and project stakeholders.
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
Requirements:
  • 3D Advance steel experience essential.
  • Minimum of 7 years design drafting experience – must be confident in working independently as well as in a team.
  • Experience in steelwork design and shop detailing techniques.
  • Strong knowledge industry design standards and practices.
  • Associate Diploma in engineering or equivalent relevant qualification.
