As a visionary leader, you will shape the future of healthcare by providing strategic direction and academic guidance for nursing and midwifery programs. Your expertise will drive innovation in curriculum design, teaching, and research, while mentoring and supporting academic staff and students.

Based at our cutting-edge clinical teaching facilities in Townsville or Cairns, you will:

  • Provide leadership and academic direction for nursing and midwifery programs.
  • Drive innovation in curriculum design, teaching, and research.
  • Mentor and support academic staff and students.
  • Build strong partnerships with healthcare providers, industry, and community organisations.
  • Champion outcomes that improve healthcare in regional, rural, and remote communities.

You will also serve as Academic Group Head – Nursing and Midwifery, focusing on developing future academic leaders and strengthening industry engagement and research impact.

About You

You are a passionate clinician and academic leader with:

  • A postgraduate qualification and current registration as a Nurse (Division 1) and/or Midwife with relevant authorities.
  • Proven academic leadership in teaching, research, and service.
  • A commitment to excellence in nursing and midwifery education.
  • A collaborative mindset and a drive to mentor others and foster innovation.
  • A desire to make a meaningful difference through education and research.
