Job Title

Special Education Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated educator to join our team as a Special Education Teacher.

The successful candidate will have the ability to teach students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism, intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, and mental health disorders.

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Student Plans, as well as collaborating with executive staff, classroom teachers, and the wider school community to implement adjustments and differentiated learning.

They will also have the ability to support both academic progress and student wellbeing, building positive relationships with students, families, and external agencies to support the educational and wellbeing outcomes of students with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Approval to Teach Special Education: The successful candidate must hold approval to teach special education and/or have experience teaching students with diverse learning needs in a high school setting.
  • Collaboration and Communication: The Special Education Teacher will work closely with executive staff, classroom teachers, and the wider school community to implement adjustments and differentiated learning for students.
  • Individual Student Plans: The successful candidate will develop, implement, and review Individual Student Plans to ensure each student receives tailored support and education.
  • Student Wellbeing: The Special Education Teacher will support both academic progress and student wellbeing, building positive relationships with students, families, and external agencies.

  • Qualifications: An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement for this role.
  • Certification: Applicants must include details of their Working With Children clearance number as part of this application.
