Role Summary:

This role is for a Mechanical Fitter who will work as part of the maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of equipment and machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing mechanical maintenance assistance to operators, line maintainers and production personnel, ensuring adherence to safe work practices, site policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and guidance where required to production, packaging, and engineering services personnel on preventative maintenance, planned maintenance and upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with developing improvements within the Production Team.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve Preventative Maintenance routines along with overhaul scheduling and documentation.
  • Ensure that parts are reliably sourced and ordered which will enable effective planned maintenance along with the quality and efficiency of repairs.
  • Provide information and recommendations to Team Leaders and Managers that will assist in improving uptime of equipment and extending equipment lifecycles.
Requirements:
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of pneumatics and hydraulic systems
  • Competent welding skills
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • 'Hands on' Practical experience in a maintenance environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong problem solving skills.
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • SAP Maintenance or other CMMS
