About the Role

The Snowy Monaro Regional Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Return to Work and Wellbeing Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting injured workers and promoting a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake the role of Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator for the Council, ensuring compliance with the Workers Compensation Act.
  • Monitor and support injured workers through the RTW process, including meeting with workers following injuries and attending doctor appointments with workers.
  • Collect and provide required information to the Council's Workers Compensation insurer.
  • Provide Council staff with information and training on Workers Compensation and RTW Program.
  • Review and update the Council's RTW Program as required.
  • Prepare reports on workers compensation and return to work.
  • Develop, implement, and manage wellbeing programs and initiatives.
  • Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability, and optimize capacity.
  • Contribute to a safe workplace: comply with legislative and organizational requirements and be accountable for own decisions and actions.
  • Provide information and guidance to management and the workforce to support individual and organizational health, safety, and wellbeing.
Requirements
  • Negotiate and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on Workers Compensation and RTW Program.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience in workers compensation, injury rehabilitation, or allied health settings.
  • Use of information management systems.
  • Construction induction certificate (white card).
