Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned health and safety professional to join our team in a key advisory role. As a Senior Health and Safety Expert, you will play a vital part in ensuring the well-being of our employees, clients, and the wider community.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position that requires strong leadership and technical skills. You will be responsible for advising on risk management strategies, maintaining our Site Health Management System (SHMS), leading safety investigations, and facilitating risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on risk and hazard management to frontline leaders and workers
  • Maintain and develop SHMS, including Standard Operating Procedures and processes, to ensure legislative compliance
  • Lead safety investigations, prepare reports, and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Facilitate risk assessments and mentor front-line and middle management on workplace hazard identification and control
  • Identify and address safety issues, ensuring corrective action is taken and monitored
  • Conduct workplace inspections, critical control observations, and field leadership activities to improve safety practices
  • Support injured workers through injury management and rehabilitation programs
  • Coordinate occupational hygiene monitoring, projects, and audits
  • Communicate site performance and broader corporate departments on safety matters
  • Mentor and coach Safety Advisors in their roles
Requirements
  • Formal qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety, Risk, or Hygiene (Diploma or equivalent)
  • Rehabilitation and Return to Work competency
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within high-risk industries (e.g., Mining, Oil & Gas, Construction, Manufacturing)
  • Positive influencer with ability to engage diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Energetic and professional commitment to improving H&S at a front-line level
