About the Role

The Senior Planner provides critical 'whole of transport' advice and expertise to deliver improved transport outcomes.

This includes:

  • Provision and coordination of technical planning advice to support departmental objectives, projects, and statutory requirements.
  • Assistance in the preparation of state-wide guidelines, best practices, and training to ensure that departmental officers are making consistent and authoritative decisions state-wide.
  • Support in the coordination of matters before VCAT, Planning Panels, or Advisory Committees.
  • Leadership of reform and change processes that deliver improved outcomes and administrative efficiency in relation to strategic planning/place planning decision-making.
  • Effective planning, organization, and management of resources to deliver an agreed scope of work, within an agreed timeframe and budget, to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Support for the development of strong relationships and liaison with relevant planning regulators and stakeholders, including transport portfolio entities and municipal councils.
