Reporting Compliance Specialist
The role involves participating in statutory and financial reporting processes for a leading customer franchise in drinks and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver annual and half-yearly financial reports as well as ASIC or ASX reporting requirements.
- Consult on and verify external reports, including results announcements, investor presentations, tax transparency reports.
- Provide internal technical accounting advice and preparation of accounting papers to support key accounting positions and judgements taken in respect of financial results and corporation transactions.
- Prepare regular reporting to the Board of Directors and Audit, Risk and Compliance Management Committee.
- Consult on key system implementation and transformation projects from an external reporting perspective.
- Carry out accounting for Group transactions relating to equity, such as share capital movements, share-based payments, dividends, investments in subsidiaries, other investments and any related impairment matters.
- Prepare, update and maintain comprehensive Group accounting policies and reference guides in line with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Perform impact assessment and implementation of new and revised accounting standards and interpretations.
- Proactively identify and drive continuous improvement within financial reporting processes.
- Liaise with external auditors in respect of financial results and reporting.
About You
This role requires a highly skilled professional with experience in financial accounting or external audit, preferably in a Big 4 firm or large entity.
You should have a CA or CPA qualification, strong technical accounting skills and stakeholder management, project management and partnering capability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to identify and assist in managing business and reporting risks.
Experience with accounting policy documents and large general ledger/ERP systems is desirable.
