Operations Manager

A successful candidate will lead the operational delivery for complex project cargo movements across Australia.

This national role oversees field execution, team performance, and end-to-end operational planning for high-profile movements in the energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead safe, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of project logistics operations.
  • Manage and mentor operational staff across Brisbane, Perth, and Melbourne hubs.
  • Plan and allocate field and subcontractor resources for port/site execution.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for operational risks, safety issues, and service delays.
  • Collaborate with commercial and BD teams on solution design, feasibility, and methodology planning.
  • Oversee milestone tracking, job file closure, and accurate reporting through freight management systems.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and project-level KPIs across safety, delivery, and financial metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, Chain of Responsibility, and CEVA standards.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Solid experience in project logistics execution, including port/site operations.
  • Experience managing field or operational teams.
  • Strong understanding of heavy-lift, OOG, and multimodal cargo handling.
  • Sound working knowledge of WHS, CoR, and relevant Australian logistics regulations.
  • Experience with CargoWise, SAP, or similar systems desirable.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and team leadership skills.
  • Flexibility to travel within Australia and participate in after-hours operational support as required.
