Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Specification Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for securing product specifications and driving business growth across the region.

The ideal candidate will have experience in specification, technical sales, or business development roles within the construction industry. You will have a strong network of contacts within the Sydney construction market and proven ability to identify, develop, and convert specification opportunities into sales.

You will work closely with internal teams to ensure product suitability and compliance with project requirements. Your technical knowledge of waterproofing, protective coatings, adhesives, or related building products will be essential in providing detailed advice and product solutions to clients.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to influence at all levels. You will be highly organized with strong project management capability and a valid driver's licence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with architects, engineers, designers, builders, applicators, and other key decision-makers to secure specification of Polyseal Group products.
  • Identify and pursue project opportunities through industry networks, EstimateOne, BCI, and other platforms.
  • Provide detailed technical advice and product solutions in line with Australian building codes and standards.
  • Deliver product presentations and training sessions for architects, specifiers, and applicators.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure product suitability and compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Manage the specification-to-installation process, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to client expectations.

Requirements:

  • Experience in specification, technical sales, or business development roles within the construction industry.
  • Strong network of contacts within the Sydney construction market.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, and convert specification opportunities into sales.
  • Sound technical knowledge of waterproofing, protective coatings, adhesives, or related building products.
  • Confident communicator with excellent presentation skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Highly organised with strong project management capability.
  • Valid driver's licence.

Nice to Have:

  • Degree or diploma in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
  • Experience with CRM systems and project tracking tools.
  • Exposure to large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of tender and contract administration processes.
