Network Security Analyst

The Stevens Group is a third-generation family business based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. We are seeking a skilled Network Security Analyst to join our I.T. Team. Our organization prioritizes quality products and services, innovative ideas, and ethical business practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor network traffic, diagnose problems, install security measures, create network diagrams, and document changes.
  • Analyze and monitor network performance.
  • Continuously monitor network traffic for suspicious activity, anomalies, and potential security threats.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans to identify and address weaknesses in the network infrastructure.
  • Provide network support and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Configure hardware and software to optimize network communication.
  • Set up VPNs, LAN, VLAN, and WAN networks, as well as Voice Over IP and VTC devices.
  • Manage IP addresses and resolve conflicts.
  • Monitor and maintain network servers and perform upgrades.
  • Perform system administration tasks and ensure network security.
  • Document processes and monitor network performance metrics.
  • Consult with internal departments and train IT support staff.
Requirements:
  • Associate of Science degree in computer network administration or equivalent diploma.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a network security analyst, or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware, software, and network installation techniques.
  • Exceptional ability to provide network support and resolve errors.
  • Experience with Inter-Network Operating Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of network setup and security.
  • Ability to keep up with advancements in IT network technologies.
  • Proficiency in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication skills.
