Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced individual to join our Eating Disorder Team as a Consumer Peer Worker.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with service leaders and clinicians to ensure care is person-centred and holistic. As a Consumer Peer Worker, you will play a vital role in our Specialist Eating Disorder Team, providing timely and effective assessment, treatment, and support to young people who experience eating disorders.

Key aspects of this role include sharing your lived experiences to offer hope and support to consumers, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, best-practice care that puts consumers at the heart of the decision-making process, and supporting consumers to access mental health services and other relevant community resources.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require a strong understanding of the Victorian public mental health system, as well as at least 2 years' experience working as a Peer Worker/Lived Experience within a mental health setting. You will also need recognition and understanding of your own recovery process, the ability to use this experience to support others, and knowledge of peer support principles.
