About the Role

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager will play a key role in managing the operational resources of the Emergency department, while providing mentoring and leadership to the Nursing Profession. This position will assist the Nurse Unit Manager in maintaining and promoting the professional standards of Nursing Practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct nursing staff to ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered in accordance with the Values and Healthcare Philosophy of St Vincent's Hospital.
  • Support the Nurse Unit Manager with the daily running of the ward, including bed management, staff management, and attending relevant meetings.
  • Act as a clinical role model by providing the highest standard of direct patient care.
  • Implement and support organisational change as directed by the Nurse Unit Manager.
  • Ensure incidents are accurately documented and investigated at the time of the incident, and the Nurse Unit Manager is informed.
Requirements
  • Degree in general nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current AHPRA practicing certificate.
  • Experience in relevant area of clinical practice.
  • Advanced clinical nursing skills.
  • Leadership qualities with proven ability to direct, enthuse and encourage a multidisciplinary team.
