Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Senior Dam Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering, with a focus on dam construction, operation, or maintenance. They will be responsible for designing and planning dams, conducting hydraulic modeling, safety and stability assessments, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will also supervise construction, lead on-site oversight, quality assurance, and manage timelines, budgets, and resources. They will conduct routine inspections, oversee monitoring systems, and implement maintenance and rehabilitation plans. Additionally, they will develop emergency action plans, conduct risk assessments, and perform rigorous safety audits.
They will also champion environmental impact assessments, prepare regulatory permits, and adopt sustainable best practices. Furthermore, they will steer water flow management, hydropower operations (if applicable), flood control mechanisms—and explore new technologies to boost safety and sustainability.
Requirements- Civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering degree with bonuses for hydrology or water resources specialization.
- Practical experience in dam construction, operation, or maintenance.
- Adept with tools like AutoCAD, hydraulic modeling software, and structural analysis techniques.
- Detail-oriented and analytical, with problem-solving skills and knowledge of engineering challenges and regulatory standards.
