Facilities Assistant Role

Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia is seeking a skilled Facilities Assistant to support Fitters in the day-to-day running of the Reman Facility. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels by receiving and dispatching Reman items, cleaning and repairing components as per procedures, disassembling parts when required, conducting quality assurance inspections, and operating equipment.

The ideal candidate must have a focus on safety and adhere to site processes, be mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn, and possess knowledge of Mining, Earthmoving, and/or Construction equipment.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in store control operations
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks
  • Disassemble components according to established procedures
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and prepare units for dispatch
  • Operate machinery safely and efficiently

Requirements:

  • Safe working practices and adherence to company policies
  • Basic mechanical skills and ability to learn
  • Knowledge of mining, earthmoving, or construction equipment
  • Ability to identify product defects and report them to supervisors
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required
