Project Specialist Role

The Senior Project Specialist role supports the development of an environmental health platform, a federally funded research project combining environmental, demographic, and health data. This position focuses on identifying, acquiring, documenting, and managing data from various custodians across Australia.

This specialist will support dataset preparation and onboarding into a national-scale data warehouse for statistical models and analytical tools.

This is a hybrid position with a blend of on-campus and off-campus work arrangements, supporting QUT's commitment to a more virtual and connected world.

Key Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications combined with extensive relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in acquiring, preparing, and managing complex spatial and time-series datasets involving environmental, demographic, or health-related data.
  • Strong skills in data analysis tools, such as R or Python, with data wrangling, cleaning, and quality assurance abilities.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, working with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Organisational and project coordination skills, managing multiple tasks, prioritising deadlines, and maintaining accurate records.
