Job Description:

As a senior risk analyst, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing risks within commodity trading portfolios. This includes oil, LNG, gas, and coal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain tools and analytical models to provide insights into the energy commodity landscape and market exposures.
  • Manage the operation of key risk models, including data sourcing, validation, and reconciliation of model inputs and outputs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely risk reporting, fostering strong working relationships across teams.
  • Communicate market developments and trading position changes across the commodity portfolio in a clear and effective manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A proactive approach to learning and developing relationships.
  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, mathematics, or a related discipline (CFA).
  • Experience in energy derivatives and commodity markets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • A high attention to detail, particularly in data validation and reconciliation.
  • A solid understanding of quantitative finance concepts, including Value at Risk (VaR) and option pricing.
  • Proficiency in programming and data tools such as VBA, SQL, and Python.
