Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Information Management Officer to lead key initiatives that enhance the agency's information governance maturity. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects to strengthen information management practices, maintaining and enhancing the Information Asset Register, and providing expert advice on records keeping requirements.

This is a short-term opportunity with potential for extension, ideal for someone ready to hit the ground running. As an experienced professional in the field of information management, you will have the opportunity to work with internal stakeholders, contribute to broader corporate services activities, and develop training and communication materials to build staff capability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and deliver projects to strengthen information management practices.
  • Maintain and enhance the Information Asset Register.
  • Provide expert advice on records keeping requirements, including for cloud-based datasets.
  • Clarify roles and responsibilities for information governance across the organisation.
  • Review and update record security protocols.
  • Manage sentencing and disposal of records in accordance with the National Archives Act 1983.
  • Maintain system access controls and ensure compliance with reporting obligations.
  • Develop training and communication materials to build staff capability.


Skills and Experience:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Demonstrated experience and/or qualifications in Information Management and records keeping.
  • Proficiency inTRIM / Content Manager.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • A proactive mindset with sound judgement and initiative.


Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be an Australian citizen.
  • Must hold a current Baseline Security Clearance.
