Heavy Vehicle Technician Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Technician Assistant to join our team in Wacol, Brisbane.
As a key member of our Vehicle Processing Centre (VPC) team, you will be responsible for assisting in the efficient running of our workshop, ensuring our trucks are delivered on-time and to the required standards.
Your primary duties will include:
- Completing tasks assigned by our experienced team members and supervisors;
- Movement of heavy vehicles within the workshop;
- Collection and correct assignment of parts using forklift or company vehicle as required;
- Testing parts, accessories, and equipment to ensure quality standards are met;
- Ensuring all tools and equipment used are safe to use and stored in a clean and safe manner;
- Accurate completion of all records and paperwork required.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A mechanical aptitude with an interest in the automotive heavy vehicle sector;
- Previous assembly or similar experience;
- A safety-first approach, maintaining a clean and organised workspace at all times;
- Ability to follow and complete paperwork accurately, including knowledge of quality systems and controls;
- Focus and ability to complete tasks independently in a safe and efficient manner;
- Skills in the use of hand and power tools, with a willingness to problem-solve;
- A strong team player attitude, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Reliability and punctuality, taking pride in your team's achievements.
