About the Role:As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide leadership and support to the nursing team, ensuring high standards of care and promoting continuity and consistency in patient care.
You will assist in management responsibilities, including performance management, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, and financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Excellence: Deliver nursing services across various health settings with proficiency, ensuring adherence to practice standards and guidelines.
- Staff Development: Provide guidance and support to less experienced staff, including student nurses, enrolled nurses, and junior registered nurses.
- Operational Support: Engage in ward/unit management activities, such as monitoring financials, supplies, and ensuring effective staff work allocation and attendance management.
Qualifications: Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
Experience: At least 3 years of post-registration experience or current classification as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife. Demonstrated competence in nursing practice and experience in supervising less experienced staff.
Skills: Effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Attributes: Creativity, innovation, and flexibility in addressing healthcare challenges. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and Quality Improvement Systems.
Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary professional nursing/midwifery issues and healthcare standards.
