The Australian Government Apprenticeship Program offers a unique career pathway to start in the Australian Public Service (APS) with no pre-requisite qualifications.
Coordinated by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, this 12-month program provides a learning and development pathway to expand personal and professional capabilities.
Duties And Responsibilities- Contributing to team goals and participating in teamwork activities.
- Setting priorities, completing allocated tasks, and making decisions within defined parameters.
- Working under general supervision and direction against established priorities and procedures.
- Understanding relevant legislation and policy frameworks.
- Undertaking straightforward tasks which may have an element of complexity.
Responsibilities at the APS 3 Classification include building and sustaining positive relationships with team members and clients, responding to changes in client needs and expectations, and planning own work goals and priorities that align with and achieve own and team outcomes.
Eligibility Requirements- Be an Australian Citizen.
- Be willing to undergo any police, character, health or other checks as required.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a valid Australian Government Security clearance.
- Be prepared to study a comprehensive Learning and Development Program.
As an example, participants can launch a long-term career with the APS, learn new skills, advance, and contribute to meaningful work on issues that matter.
