About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Lead to join our Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Team on a full time basis.

This role is based at our Atlas mine site, which boasts new and modern camp facilities. The primary purpose of the role is to support all site personnel and our contractors to deliver results safely and responsibly.

Your Key Responsibilities will be

  • Manage the Health & Safety team, developing and implementing strategies within the context of Tronox values, policy and strategy; as well as all applicable legislation.
  • Support the Eastern operations to achieve safe, quality, low cost, and sustainable tonnes.
  • Develop and implement site safety strategies aligned with the SHE business plan and relevant legal requirements.
  • Manage site safety management systems; in alignment with other Australian sites and global policy, standard and strategies.
  • Assist with or lead the development, implementation and monitoring of critical controls.
  • Maintain and continuously improve safety and health management systems and processes.
  • Monitor and report on Health & Safety performance to meet internal and external needs in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Facilitate and run audits to ensure compliance with standards, laws and best practice.
  • Lead and support investigations promoting reactive and proactive learning to build organisational resilience to adverse events.

Requirements

  • 5 years (+10 preferred) experience in a Health & Safety leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and engage with site management.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a safety related discipline.
  • Good knowledge of applicable legislation.
  • Sound knowledge of investigation techniques.
  • Sound knowledge of risk management philosophies and implementation.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
