**Employment type - We have an ongoing opportunity for a Manager Casework at Wagga Wagga in the Murrumbidgee Far West & Western NSW District.**
**Grade 9 - $120,859 - $124,258 p.a. + super and annual leave loading per year of service.**
**Your role**
Murrumbidgee, Far West & Western NSW District is looking for committed, compassionate, courageous and resilient leaders with a passion to empower people to improve the lives of children and families in NSW. The Manager Casework role is all-embracing, and it requires you to have a mix of knowledge, skills and values that will enable you to empower, mentor and provide strategic direction to a team of Caseworkers and Casework Support Workers.
**What you’ll do**
As part of the Murrumbidgee & Far West Western NSW District, you will monitor and establish daily priorities and resource allocations for Caseworkers. You will nurture high quality work encouraging a culture of best practise methods amongst staff to improve the life experiences of vulnerable children, young people, and families at risk.
Your day-to-day duties may include:
- Practising effective group supervision, leadership and individual casework coaching and feedback
- Client record compliance through effective review and feedback mechanisms; preparation and review input to legal documentation, briefings and correspondence ensuring responses are accurate.
- Initiating court proceedings as the official applicant and providing support and guidance to caseworkers in matters such as appeal proceedings in District and Supreme Courts in a timely manner
- Ongoing professional development and collaboration across the agency and with community partners
- Contributing to operational and policy issues and change management strategies which support the agency goals and objectives.
- Consulting with management on a suitable course of action in matters that are sensitive, high-risk or business-critical.
- Provide quality relationship building whilst maintaining effective working relationships with our NGO stakeholders across MFWW.
**What we’re looking for**
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Welfare or a related discipline
- Experience leading and managing teams in complex and challenging situations.
- A demonstrated understanding of trauma informed care and the impact poverty, trauma and violence has on children and their families.
- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
