Financial Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead our finance team in South East Melbourne. As a strategic leader, you will play a key role in managing daily operations, supervising staff, and delivering accurate financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage accounting function operations with high levels of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Supervise and support a small team of finance professionals, providing guidance and development opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver timely financial reports with accuracy, meeting stakeholder expectations.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Manage cash flow, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations to ensure financial stability.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit processes, ensuring full compliance and minimizing risks.
  • Ensure tax obligations are met, including BAS, PAYG, and payroll tax reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership for financial insights and analysis, driving business decisions.
  • Develop process improvements to increase efficiency within the finance function, improving overall performance.
  • Manage reporting obligations across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring regulatory compliance.
About You

We welcome applications from qualified individuals who possess:

  • Certificate IV or higher in Accounting or equivalent qualifications.
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring finance staff, with a strong track record of success.
  • Deep understanding of Australian accounting standards and familiarity with New Zealand reporting requirements.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical thinking, with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Prior experience with Apprise ERP is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
  • A hands-on, proactive approach to work in a dynamic environment, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
