Animal Health Services Manager

This position plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing programs to enhance Australia's livestock biosecurity system.

About the Role:
  • The Technical Services Manager will lead projects to boost national biosecurity and emergency preparedness, reporting directly to the Head of Technical Services.
  • You will be responsible for coordinating activities across vaccine banks, animal disease exercises, and emerging biosecurity threats, leveraging your scientific and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide expert advice on vaccine banks, animal disease exercises, and emerging biosecurity threats.
  2. Support data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform strategic decisions and improve disease control strategies.
  3. Engage with government agencies, veterinary services, and other key stakeholders to bolster disease control efforts.
  4. Collaborate with colleagues to develop policies and ensure compliance with national animal health and welfare standards.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Animal or Veterinary Science or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a technical management capacity within animal health or disease control.
  • Strong project/program management skills and a record of delivering successful project outcomes.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related applications.
