About the Role

You will be a key member of our credit operations team, responsible for evaluating and processing merchant credit applications, making informed credit decisions, and ensuring compliance with lending policies.

  • Review and assess credit applications from merchants and brokers in accordance with lending policies and risk frameworks.
  • Analyse applicants' financial profiles to determine affordability.
  • Conduct credit bureau and banking history checks, assess credit conduct, and verify employment stability.
  • Make credit recommendations or approvals within a defined lending mandate.
  • Liaise directly with stakeholders, brokers, and customers to gather information and deliver timely decisions.
  • Assist in inbound and outbound calls related to credit assessments, re-advances, and general underwriting queries.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of credit decisions and support compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate on daily collections processes, monitor direct debit activity, and manage exceptions or failed payments.
  • Support continuous improvement of credit workflows, underwriting documentation, and risk policy frameworks.
  • Provide mentorship and second-level review of other team members' assessments when needed.
