About the Job

**Business Systems Analyst**

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team at Pyramid Global Technologies. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in working collaboratively with our teams and stakeholders to obtain, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for projects and other tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Understand the Current State**: Collaborate with business subject matter experts to define the future state aligned to project objectives.
  • **Requirements Gathering**: Use a range of information gathering techniques to proactively discover requirements, synthesize information accurately, completely, and coherently to produce designs that realize strategic and project objectives.
  • **Business Analysis**: Apply sound comprehension of our business context, including strategy, key systems, processes, and critical issues/constraints.
  • **Problem Solving**: Solve business problems using a methodical and consultative approach.
  • **Evaluating Information**: Evaluate information and data to determine problems, opportunities, and solutions.
  • **Defining MVPs**: Support the definition of Minimum Viable Products, features, stories, and benefits.
  • **Facilitating Elaborations**: Facilitate elaboration sessions, attend, and facilitate other workshops as necessary.
  • **Technical Analysis**: Undertake technical analysis, define, and document business logic, mapping, and governance, and success criteria.
  • **Documenting Project Artefacts**: Document and deliver project artefacts as required.
  • **Estimating for Delivery Phase**: Assist in estimating for the delivery phase.
  • **Development of Flight Plan and Milestones**: Assist in the development of a flight plan and milestones.
  • **Agile Ceremonies**: Attend and contribute to agile ceremonies, including iteration planning, stand-up meetings, retrospectives, and showcases.
  • **RAIDS Identification**: Proactively identify risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
  • **Supporting Development and Testing Teams**: Support the development and testing teams in understanding requirements.
  • **Test Planning and Execution**: Support test planning and execution.
  • **Knowledge Transfer**: Contribute to knowledge transfer as required during and after the delivery of a project.
  • **Improvement Opportunities**: Identify and call out improvement opportunities for project delivery.
  • **Performing Other Duties**: Perform other duties as necessary during the delivery of a project and as assigned by the project/iteration manager.
  • **Maintaining Stakeholder Relationships**: Work collaboratively, maintaining ongoing dialogue and relationships with stakeholders as part of continued solution development and support.
  • **Promoting Continuous Improvement**: Promote continuous improvement through involvement in review processes and demonstration of individual leadership skills.
Key Stakeholder Relationships
  • **Internal Relationships**: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with business customers, work collaboratively with solution design peers and other technical peers, and work collaboratively with other internal areas as required.
  • **External Relationships**: Work with external partners/vendors as required.
Key Job Requirements
  • **Qualifications**: Tertiary qualifications in IT, business, or an associated field (desired).
  • **Experience**: Minimum 8 years' experience in a business/system analyst role (mandatory), project lifecycle experience (mandatory), experience in finance projects and understanding of the related functional aspects (mandatory), and experience in data-related projects (mandatory).
  • **Track Record**: A track record of working in a fast-paced, collaborative, cross-functional environment (desired) and proficiency in working with distributed teams (desired).
  • **Key Capabilities/Technical Competencies**: Ability to analyze customer requirements and provide innovative solutions or alternatives to meet those requirements, strong internal consultation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, excellent presentation and communication skills, advanced facilitation and workshop skills, ability to translate technical speak and business speak, advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, business research and analytical skills, strong SQL, data analysis, and data profiling skills, knowledge of business process modeling and associated tools, knowledge of data modeling and data warehouse concepts (desired), understanding of agile development practices, ability to cope with pressure, priorities, workloads, and meet agreed timeframes, good knowledge of the insurance/finance domain (desired), knowledge of planning/forecasting, data reporting visualization platforms (desired), knowledge and experience of JIRA (desired), knowledge of the Suncorp business and technology environment (desired), and knowledge of business and IT trends (desired).
