Key Commercial Specialist for Asset Management Projects

Senior Contract Administrator

The role involves providing technical contracts administration and oversight for commercial activities within allocated projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Administration of upstream Head Contracts and downstream Supply/Subcontracts
  • Maintaining commercial registers
  • Ensuring performance and delivery of project scope
  • Assessing event impacts, managing claims, and extensions of time (EOTs)
  • Supporting accurate progress claims, forecasting, and reporting
  • Following contract manuals and leading change management, including design changes
  • Coordinating prompt issuance of subcontracts and supply contracts, ensuring compliance
  • Driving contract management processes, including variation and change claims
  • Collaborating with internal teams (procurement, finance, legal, controls)
  • Assisting in negotiations and dispute resolution; providing data for upstream claims

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Law, Commerce, Engineering, or similar
  • Extensive experience in commercial/contract management for construction, services, or manufacturing
  • Familiarity with contract management software is advantageous
  • Expertise in both traditional and collaborative contracting
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication in multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of warranty, defects, acceptance, testing, and commissioning
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams to resolve issues
  • Proactive, decisive, and focused on achieving best commercial outcomes
