About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Youth Justice Key Worker to join our team in the Riverina Region. As a Key Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting young people at risk of using violence and working with community stakeholders to prevent youth violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with carers and families to ensure the best interests of the child are met.
  • Work on an outreach basis across the Riverina Police District to strengthen and restructuring identity/stories that lead away from violent narratives.
  • Work within a holistic casework model, understanding that a young person is a part of a whole, and work with family and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Advocacy approach, walking alongside to advocate for better outcomes when faced with the possibility of suspension or returning to school after a period of absenteeism.
  • Work alongside community stakeholders and within a supported team environment.
  • Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports as required.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (diploma or higher) in social work, welfare, psychology, criminology, education or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence.
