Modern systems and platforms in the Space and Defence sectors are critically dependent on advanced wireless technologies for communications and remote sensing in a contested environment.
The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the University of Queensland (UQ) has solidified its status as a global leader in related Microwave / Millimetre-Wave Engineering.
To maintain UQ's global leadership and ensure continuity in this rapidly advancing field, we are seeking a Senior Lecturer (Level C) to play a central role in Critical RF and Antenna Engineering Technologies and strengthen research and teaching within EECS.
Within EECS, you'll find thriving teams driving innovation in Biomedical Imaging Technologies and Engineering; Optics and Photonics; Electromagnetics; Signals Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Human-Centred Computing, Power and Control Engineering, and Data Science.
The School fosters a dynamic and inspiring environment for academics, leading advancements at the cutting edge of technology.
Key responsibilities will include : Teaching : Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules.
Research : Lead independent or collaborative research to achieve national recognition and impact in RF and Antenna Engineering.
Collaborate with colleagues, students, and industry on joint research and funding applications.
Act as chief investigator in securing and managing external research funding.
Maintain a strong publication record in high-quality international journals and conferences.
Prepare progress reports and participate in regular project meetings.
Initiate and coordinate strategic, externally funded collaborations across UQ, nationally, and internationally.
Support knowledge transfer and commercialisation of UQ intellectual property.
Conduct impactful research that influences policy, practice, or commercialisation, gaining national and international recognition in RF and Antenna Engineering.
Supervision and Researcher Development : Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.
Citizenship and Service : Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.
This is a teaching & research position.

About You Completion of a Ph D in Electrical Engineering.
Eligible to apply for and obtain a security clearance.
An established profile in teaching and research in RF and Antenna Engineering.
National recognition in RF and Antenna Engineering, with an internationally developing profile and an established record of publications in reputed refereed journals and conferences.
A strong record of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.
Evidence of a high level of quality teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate level across a variety of settings, including small and large groups.
A strong track record of course coordination and participation in the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area.
A solid record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.
A growing record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with a strong contribution to external activities.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including : right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check.
In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply : Australian Citiz enship : It is a requirement of this position that the applicant is an Australian citizen.
AGSVA Clearance : It is a requirement of this position that the applicant is eligible and willing to apply for security clearances as required by the project activities.
